Electrostatic Discharge Testing

Electrostatic Discharge Testing is designed to determine the immunity or the ability of equipment to perform its intended function without permanent degradation of performance as a result of an air discharged electrostatic pulse. This checks for resilience vs. electrostatic discharge in handling (human contact) and operation of certain equipment. This is determined by subjecting the equipment under test (EUT) to ten pulses of 15,000 volts directed at specific human contact locations on the equipment. Notably, CMS can perform ESD testing to meet a broad range of aviation and non-aviation specifications, including IEC, MIL-STD, DO-160, SAE, NEBS, ASTM, ISTA, and others.
